Chesterfield Liberal Democrats, as well have having many hundreds of members, also have 23 councillors who work day and night throughout the year helping residents of Chesterfield with their everyday problems.

Chesterfield Liberal Democrats, time after time, have to do the work which should be done by the Labour controlled council. In the Council elections in May, more of you voted Liberal Democrat (47.6%) than voted for Labour (44.4%). It was only the unrepresentative, outdated "first past the post" system that allowed Labour to cling onto control.

Chesterfield Liberal Democrats helped to see our first Parliamentary representative in Nick Clegg in the European Parliament, and we are already beginning to see the good effects that is having in Chesterfield. In the last 3 years we have almost doubled our number of Borough Councillors, doubled the number of Town Councillors we have in Staveley, and increased for the third successive time our share of the vote in the General Election.

Chesterfield Liberal Democrats still have much work to do. We have a firm membership which we are keen to increase, and we - no, YOU need a Liberal Democrat MP in Chesterfield. So let's all work together and get the job done.
